Join us for a four-part podium session that will show you novel ways to improve patient screening and assessment. 
  • Nida Torres will present "A Pilot to Determine the Effectiveness of Integrating Nutrition Screening and Referral Into the Nursing Assessment Process." She'll give practical examples of how oncology nurses providing chemotherapy can protect a patient's nutrition status and optimize clinical nutrition resources. 
  • Linda Abbott will present "Distress Screening: Meeting the American College of Surgeons Standards by 2015." She'll share a large academic center's successful psychosocial screening process for post-surgical and newly diagnosed patients with breast cancer.
  • Stephanie Szoch will present "Evaluating the Implementation of a Neurologic Assessment Form for Patients Receiving High-Dose Cytarabine." With standardized neurological documentation used by nurses as an exemplar, she'll demonstrate the importance of evaluating evidence-based practice change. 
  • Kristen Kreamer will present "Success Story: The Nurse's Role in Development and Execution of a Screening Service for Individuals at High Risk for Lung Cancer." She'll share the unique features of a lung cancer screening service at a comprehensive cancer center, including same-day follow-up by a nurse practitioner.
