  • Joanna Ferreri will present "An Active Voiding Trial Protocol for the Postoperative Urologic/Gynecologic Surgical Patient: A Simple 'Just Do It' to Impact Satisfaction, Cost, and Quality." She'll discuss the components and benefits of a novel study to decrease the length of stay associated with the prolonged passive voiding trial.
  • Monica Beck will present "Safe Management of Patients Undergoing Thyroid Ablation." She'll identify three essential principles to employ when caring for patients undergoing radiation, while ensuring that radiation exposure is as low as reasonably achievable for the healthcare team.
  • Chia-Chun Tang will present "End-of-Life Experiences of Patients With Terminal Pancreatic Cancer: An Integrative Literature Review." She'll highlight research that addresses end-of-life care for patients with pancreatic cancer, focusing on how nurses can meet this population's special needs.
  • Mali Wold will present "The Pain Stops Here." She'll reflect upon cases of palliative sedation in a nurse practitioner-managed inpatient medical oncology  unit. You'll explore factors that impact the consideration of palliative sedation and how to alleviate concerns of inappropriate use.
