True leadership is not a function of title or position, but the ability to positively influence another human being. Three-time Olympian Devon Harris, a member of the Jamaican bobsled team that inspired the hit movie Cool Runnings, will share how you can inspire your patients and coworkers by building a strong sense of purpose and personal leadership. His profound, moving perspective will teach you that you don’t have to be the best, but you do have to be a good leader and empower others. He’ll also motivate you to understand the ways that each generation learns and leads, and how to adapt your style when others are watching.

Harris was selected to the first Jamaican bobsled team, which competed in the 1988 Olympic Games in Calgary, Canada. He was also captain of the Jamaican bobsled team that competed in 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville, France and the 1998 Games in Nagano, Japan. His simple yet powerful delivery—packed with plenty of humor, too—has inspired thousands at Fortune 100 companies, nonprofits, government organizations, schools, and universities.

After his address, Harris will be signing copies of his inspirational books, Keep On Pushing: Hot Lessons from Cool Runnings and Yes, I Can!, at the ONS Foundation booth in Hall A, located near registration. Please bring cash or a check if you would like to purchase these books then.
