Quality Oncology Care: Demonstrating Value

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

To meet the challenges of the Affordable Care Act, nurses will need to demonstrate value—highest quality care at the lowest possible cost—for every patient. But how do we know what quality oncology care is? Come get an in-depth education on the background and evolution of quality improvement science as it relates to oncology. You’ll learn about current efforts to improve quality, implement outcomes-based and evidence-based standards, and strengthen interdisciplinary research. After small group and breakout sessions, you’ll return home with a well-formed idea for practice change.

Objectives
1. Explain the background and evolution of quality improvement science in health care, focusing on its relevance to oncology nurses.
2. Analyze current case examples to improve quality and safety while reducing cost in oncology care.
3. Generate examples and ideas for change that can have a measureable impact on oncology care and the systems that support it.
