In September 2013, the Institute of Medicine (IOM) released a report focusing on the delivery of oncology care amidst health system challenges, including an aging society. Come hear the recommendations from “Delivering High-Quality Cancer Care: Charting a New Course for a System in Crisis.” You’ll cover key areas of concern, including involvement in advanced care planning, patient-centered care, and evidence-based practice.

1. Identify the crisis in cancer care delivery.
2. Understand the importance of improved patient-centered communication and shared decision-making.
3. Describe the steps needed to ensure a quality workforce.
