Network with your peers during the Cancer Genetics special interest group meeting, which focuses on the impact of rapid evolution in the utility of genetics and genomics in oncology care. Special attention will be given to the changes in 2013, including: the Supreme Court decision regarding gene patents, introduction of many new panels type tests for hereditary cancer predisposition, insurance policy and practice regarding the provision of genetic counseling, and credentialing for nurses in genetics.

1. Identify a clinical benefit from the introduction of hereditary cancer panel tests.
2. Identify a clinical limitation of testing for hereditary cancer resultant from panel tests.
3. Identify the 2013–2014 change in application for a genetics credential for nurses in the United States.
